My Language Learning Blog
Foreign Language Mastery is a blog, podcast, and perhaps one day a book (I need to finish my other book first) created by John Fotheringham (c’est moi), and dedicated to helping adult language learners master foreign languages as quickly, cheaply and painlessly as possible. Learning a language well does indeed require an investment of your precious time, energy and money, but if you go about it in what I see as the “right” way, it will take far less of all three currencies, and actually become an enjoyable process you look on with joy instead of dread.

About Me
I am passionate about foreign languages and cultures, education, website development, and wireless technologies. I have spent most of the past decade living, learning and working in East Asia, with experience in a number of fields, including government, corporate training, telecom, website development, and voice acting. I speak, read, and write Japanese and Mandarin Chinese, and have begun learning a number of additional languages. I hold a B.A. in Linguistics from Western Washington University, including certification in T.E.S.O.L., and I am a member of the Linguistic Society of America.
